To help plan your visit to APAA17 in Auckland:

Welcome letter

We will be sending all delegates a note with general information 3 weeks prior to the Conference.

Meeting points: There will be 4 meeting points in and around the conference centre 

There is limited seating at the SkyCity Convention Centre on Saturday 4 November.  In order to assist participants, additional meeting spaces have been secured at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Bar twentyone. 
On Sunday 5 November the Auckland Rooms, Level 4 (delegate lunch area) is also available for meetings.
Then on Tuesday 7 November, most spaces on Level 4 (Epsom Rooms and Auckland Rooms) are available for delegate meetings.

  • Meeting point A:  Level 5 Promenade, SkyCity Convention Centre.  This meeting point is near to the SkyCity Main site and some lounge furniture seating 
  • Meeting point B:  Bar twentyone (main site, SkyCity, near meeting point A) Bar twentyone is available during the day and has casual seating for meetings
  • Meeting point C:  Elliott Meeting Rooms, Lobby Level, Crowne Plaza Hotel (opposite the SkyCity Convention Centre)  The Elliott Meeting rooms will have seating for meetings for 150 participants
  • Meeting point D: Level 4 Promenade, SkyCity Convention Centre.  There will be cafe style seating for participants.

The SkyCity main site, adjacent to the Convention Centre has many cafes, bars and resturants.

Registration and Information Desks

Are located in the Marlborough 1 Room, Level 5, SkyCity Convention Centre.  The information desk will be open during the Conference.

PLEASE NOTE: The APAA17 Conference will not be providing satchels to participants - we are looking to save resources and help keep NZ clean and green.

What to bring and wear for your Excursion day

Please check the Tours page on this website which has details of departure times, what to bring and wear.  Please note - all excursions will depart on time.  You will need to be at the departure point, at least 15 minutes prior to your departure time.  Your excursion code will be printed on your badge.  We have scheduled tours at different times - so please check your departure time!

APAA Excursion day competition

Bring your camera to capture the APAA participants and New Zealand scenary during the excursion day.  The best pictures will be shown during the gala dinner.  You could be the first winner of the APAA Excursion Day photo competition!

Programme and Meeting Rooms

All information is available on the programme pages.  All sessions chairs will be sent information on meeting room and audio visual arrangements.

Airport pick ups - Friday 3 November and Saturday 4 November

You will have received an email regarding your flight arrivals.  APAA17 is pleased to confirm complimentary airport transfers during peek times on the above dates from Auckland International Airport.  Times and full details will be added shortly.

Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception / Hospitality

The Opening Ceremony will start at 1830hrs in the New Zealand Room, Level 5, SkyCity Convention Centre.  Join us for a traditional Powhiri and bring your camera to capture the performers during and after the ceremony.  The City of Sails Welcome Reception and Hospitality follows downstairs in the Auckland Rooms.

Discover New Zealand Night

Here is your opportunity to enjoy fine New Zealand wines and food - in a fun and informal enviornment!  The venue is The Cloud on the Auckland Waterfront.  Coaches will depart the SkyCity Convention Centre, however many of you will be able to walk from your hotels.

APAA Gala Dinner

You will be able to choose your table prior to the Gala Dinner.  Coaches will depart the SkyCity Convention Centre to Spark Arena where we have a special entertainment showcase for you.
