Copyright Committee:  The Ripple Effect of Content Going Viral and its Implications
Modern communication tools, particularly Social Networking Sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, give their users the vast opportunity to make content posted thereon become viral. The latter term, from its root word “virus”, refers to content that can spread rapidly across a population, and in particular over the Internet, if people share such content many times over. Do such forms of multiple and widespread sharing have any implications on copyright, and if so, what are these?

Workshop 1:  Did They or Did They Not? The Standards for Proving Patent Infringement
A discussion on the standards on proving patent infringement in view of the ruling in Halo Electronics, Inc. v. Pulse Electronics, Inc., [2016] discarding the (US) Federal Circuit’s previous standard for awarding enhanced damages in patent cases.
