Registration for the Asian Patent Attorneys Association’s Annual Council Meeting 2017 is now open for Members and Observers. 

First time observers need to be sponsored by an APAA Member and need to complete and return the Observers Sponsorship Letter prior to registering.  Please see details below.

APAA Members

Registration is open to all APAA Individual Members and 

 

Up to 3 representatives of an Organization Member

Accompanying Family Persons (AFP)
Family members of APAA Members and Observers may register as Accompanying Family Persons (AFP). AFP attendees may attend the wide assortment of social programs open to all attendees, the Excursion Day Program and special AFP tours planned on business days. Please note, this category of attendance does not allow participation in the professional program or the Women in APAA networking event.

 

The AFP fee includes attendance in the evening social functions (Welcome Reception on Saturday, Discover New Zealand Night on Sunday and the Gala Dinner on Tuesday night) and the Monday Excursion Day.   Tickets can be purchased for the tour programs on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.

Accompanying Office Personnel (AOP)
Each APAA Member is entitled to bring up to two Accompanying Office Personnel (AOP) who are non-qualified persons, as defined by the Statutes and Regulations of the APAA.

Observers (see the note below regarding registration qualifications for first time Observers)
Qualified IP professionals, who are not APAA members, may attend as Observers as defined in the Statutes and Regulations of the APAA.   

Children attending as Accompanying Family Persons (AFP)
Children or grandchildren of registered attendees may attend.

FOR OBSERVERS
For first time Observers, you will need to submit an Observer Sponsorship Letter before you complete your online registration, to be issued with an Observer ID.   You can only register to attend once your Observer Sponsorship Letter has been accepted by the APAA and an Observer ID issued. A copy of the Observer Sponsorship Letter needs to be sent to the Meeting Secretariat at apaa2017@tcc.co.nz and to the APAA Secretary General at secretary_general@apaa.asia.

Please refer to the Observer protocol set out in the Sponsorship Letter, which needs to be complied with.  Observers can register for the Meeting from 1 June 2017, when online registration for Observers has opened. 

Only one observer can register per firm.  If you would like a second person from your firm to attend, you will need to contact the Secretary General at secretary_general@apaa.asia to have your name put on a waiting list.

INSURANCE, LOSS OR DAMAGE
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that you take up a travel poilicy of your choice. We do not take any responsibility should any Participant fail to arrange her/his own insurance. Insurance should be purchased in your country of origin. Please note that APAA and the Organising Committee are not liable for any loss and damage, whether direct or consequential, arising out of cancellation or, participation in, or registration for this meeting. Participation in this meeting and all events organised is at the risk of Participants. 


CANCELLATION POLICY

Should you need to cancel your registration for any reason, you must notify The Conference Company in writing. You may reassign your registration to another person. Please advise The Conference Company the replacement delegate's name and contact details.

If you are unable to arrange a replacement, the following cancellation charges will apply:

  • Cancellations received on or before 15 July 2017 will incur a cancellation fee of NZD $200. 
  • Cancellations received on or after 16 July 2017 but before 30 August 2017 will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration.
  • No refund will be made for cancellations received on or after 30 August 2017. The whole registration fee will be forfeited. 
  • Bank charge(s) and remittance fees incidental to any refunds shall be borne by receiver(s). 
  • A change of NZD $50 will be levied on participants who cancel registration for the Golf Excursion on or before 30 August 2017. No fee is refundable if the cancellation is received on or after 30 August 2017.

If, for reasons beyond the control of the Organising Committee, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association’s Annual Council Meeting 2017 is cancelled, registration fees will be refunded after the deduction of expenses already incurred.
